Dr. Lurey was born and raised in Asheville N.C. He attended Duke University. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from NC State University and a Masters and Doctorate in Psychology from UNC-G.
Dr. Lurey has acquired and developed his skills over 30 years of treating people who are distressed and experiencing anxiety, depression and little motivation in life. He has helped people in improving their personal relationships with family as well as at work. Dr. Lurey believes that effective counseling involves active listening, understanding and communications with his patients.
